Hello and welcome to the website of the Renfrewshire Referees’ Association (“SFARR”).

If you are interested in becoming a SFA registered referee (the potential opportunities to progress as a referee are limitless), then please see details of our Training Classes elsewhere on this site.

For existing SFARR Members, you are encouraged to attend weekly fitness training sessions at Renfrew Leisure Centre (7.00pm to 9.00pm every Tuesday); and also Monthly Members’ Meetings, at the same location, at 7.30pm on the first Monday of every month (August to May inclusive). You will not progress as a referee without regular attendance at both training and meetings, since these are the avenues through which we endeavour to ensure that we have suitably fit referees applying the laws of the game consistently.

For over 60 years, SFARR has been an important feeder organisation for the SFA, with many of our referees progressing to the Senior List of the SFA referees, and then on to UEFA and FIFA. Additionally, we are relied upon by many local leagues and associations for the provision of referees to service youth, amateur and women’s football in the area. Whatever your age or ability, there will be a level of football for you to referee in, and there will always be potential for progression and promotion.

So, for existing Members, I wish you well in your refereeing endeavours – please get involved in your local association and derive the benefits of attendance at training and meetings; and, for any prospective referees out there, please contact us about forthcoming training classes.
